Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
With students home for the remainer of this school year, emotions have been all over and many are struggling to accept the loss of physically going to school. Our students are home with limited resources, many visiting school sponsored food trucks for weekday breakfast and lunch. Books, creative materials, and basic supplies are unlikely to be available at their homes.
My Project
My students are likely to see big differences this summer break. With limited access to public spaces like playgrounds and parks, they need fun activities to do outside while they are safely at home.
Jump ropes and sidewalk chalk give students some creative time and movement outside.
Challenges posted on our school social media pages will utilize jump ropes in creative ways to build competition and fun movement throughout the summer. Chalk will be used to write, draw, illustrate. We will make our mark and share our work with friends by taking pictures.
