Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My athletes are in a kindergarten through eighth grade school located in an urban district. Our school serves free breakfast and lunch for all students. Breakfast is served in the classroom, and students do not switch classrooms much at the younger grades. Most of my students are from Spanish-speaking households.
My students need to be active and moving while learning.
Their learning with technology should be hands-on. Instead of wondering what they could do, it would be great for my students to have the materials to be "can do" people.
My Project
Every day students create projects that need to be shown off. I want to be able to showcase my students STEM projects when parents and other staff members walk through the school doors. In class we program fun projects, but we cannot show them outside of our classroom. Using the TV we can showcase the programs in our main lobby.
Students need to be able to show off their work so they are encouraged to go beyond what is taught in the classroom.
The wall mount and surge protectors will enable me to mount the TV up high enough for all to see when they walk through the building. Children need to be encouraged into the STEM movement and what better way to do this than to show case the students work. By showcasing work you make it seem easier and appealing to students that might not have thought that way to start.
We will also be able to take videos and pictures of the Science and Engineering lessons and display them.
