Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school is full of vibrant, excited learners ready for new challenges each and every day! We are a preK-8th grade school, and in every grade we develop a strong classroom community to support one another.
My school is made up of students with special needs, gifted students and English language learners.
We fill our days with rigorous academics and extraordinary teachers.
My students all come from lower income families that struggle each day to make ends meet. Many of these children face poverty and violence on a daily basis that is well beyond what most of us could imagine. Yet, the students do their best to learn. We try our best to give our students a good education and an introduction to the American way of life, but with limited resources there are many things that others consider basic parts of education that we cannot provide without assistance. My school is very limited in the funds that teachers receive every year. Teachers go forward and buy their own supplies to help their students have a successful school year.
My Project
Our schools needs some Cricut supplies and accessories. We will use these items in a variety of ways throughout the school building. We can use the accessories along with our Cricut machine to make shirts for students and staff members to build morale throughout the school. Next, we can use the Cricut to cut out letters and designs for our bulletin boards. Also, we can use the Cricut to make items to sell as fund raisers for our school. Finally, we can cut vinyl sayings to place around the schools to promote acts of kindness, acceptance and a positive school environment. There is so much we can do with the accessories for our Cricut machine!
