Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Every morning I start my day off greeting my students as scholars. It is important to me that my 3rd graders know they are scholars. In order for them to be successful, they need to have a way to display their thinking and teach one another. Our classroom lacks anywhere to write.
My students are curious and love learning.
They are always actively learning and questioning and collaborating with each other. I have a 3rd grade dual language class. My class is made up of all Hispanic students from a low income neighborhood. Our school is very consistent in having high expectations for our students while creating life long learners.
My Project
We do not have anywhere to write in our classroom therefore a document camera would be a huge help. My students would be able to display their own work to help teach each other. I would also be able to show more visual examples to help my students reach their goals. Being able to model writing and giving students the opportunity to display their own writing will increase my students' writing abilities.
With changes in education we are requiring students to be independent and be able to explain their thinking.
A document camera would give my students a way to show of their work and teach their classmates. It would also give me a more visual way to teach my students daily.
