Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are hard workers at an urban, inner-city school. All of our students get free breakfast and lunch. More than half of my students come from families where English is not the first language and in many cases, school is their only exposure to English.

My students come to school each day excited to learn and to see what the day has in store for them.

The students come from varied family situations, including some who live with grandparents and some who live with other relatives. I am always looking for ways to keep my students excited about their learning and ways to give them many possibilities in their educational experiences.

My Project

My students are now learning at home. This is making it difficult for them to show their learning and to stay engaged in their daily learning.

These dry erase boards will be used for my students to show their work and to get them more involved in their own learning.

I will be able to see what they know and they will be excited to share their learning with me in a new way. They will be used in all areas of curriculum, from math to reading and writing and even social emotional learning. The possibilities are endless with a supply of dry erase boards.
