This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach in a Title I school where all students receive free breakfast and lunch each day. My students come from diverse backgrounds and have many different learning styles. Our school is a close-knit family, and our students quickly become a part of that. I believe relationships are key in helping me meet my students where they are and move them to the next level.
Many of my fifth graders are beginning to set serious goals about their futures.
It is important to me to value those goals and help them realize, even at a young age, what it takes to achieve them.
My Project
Just as the world around us is rapidly changing with advances in technology, the instruction in my classroom is also changing! Next year, I will have a class set of iPads in my classroom. Students will be able to complete work in a brand new way using various apps and other technology tools!
Apple TV would allow my students to display the work they have completed on their iPads on the Smartboard for others to see.
This helps to create an environment of collaboration in my classroom and also allows me the opportunity to give important feedback to my students. I am working to prepare my students for the future, where the jobs they may have are jobs that are not even thought of yet. I want my students to have new experiences and be able to learn and communicate in a variety of ways. Your support of this project will really help me move my instruction in a new direction!
