Help me give my students a 'show what you know' wall, in which students can display some of their favorite pieces of work. Students can be proud of their work on the Show What You Know wall.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a variety of backgrounds, with 65% of the students being Hispanic, with non-English speaking families. Many of the students are bilingual, especially if they have been enrolled in school in the US since PreK. I do have students that are new to the country and have no English. I work in a Title I school, where we offer 100% free breakfast and lunch daily to our students. I also apply for the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable grant each year so that the students will receive a healthy snack 3-4 days a week. Many of the students receive food backpacks on Friday so they have food for the weekend.
The students love coming to school and are eager to learn.
The students are well behaved and thrive in our classroom community. They are supportive of each other in the classroom and on the playground. The parents are supportive and want to learn new ways to be engaged and involved with their child's education.
My Project
I want to have bulletin boards installed that is strictly for student use on the Show What You Know wall. Typical school bulletin board and hallway displays must be standards-based and content driven. While these are important and are our purpose, I want students to have the opportunity to share or brag about something they have accomplished or learned.
Students need opportunities to feel empowered to 'show what they know'.
Students are more than standards and content. Students have so many strengths and talents and need opportunities to share that with their classmates. Students can post a piece of artwork, a photo of them participating in a favorite activity, a family event, or any area in which they feel they have made academic or personal growth. Students will opportunities each week to change their display.
The 'Show What You Know' wall will give students insight and gain a deeper understanding of their peers as well as themselves. I want students to see their value, growth, accomplishments. I want them to see themselves as unique, always growing, and ever-changing. I want students to realize that we are all life-long learners in ways and we can always celebrate our moments, regardless of where they occur.
