This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students I teach are enthusiastic about art and enjoy seeing art from around the world through the internet. My students are in a small rural school district, with varying income levels. They are in grades six, seven and eight. They make the best of the small amount of supplies that we have and are super proud of their accomplishments. They deserve more than they have. They are loving, caring and helpful in the art room. I serve the students with emotional and learning disabilities as well.
My Project
This document camera will help students see what I am creating in real time. It is impossible for 25 students to surround my desk and see the precise movements I make during a demonstration. With a document camera, they can see it on the promethean board from their desks and follow along.
This is a crucial piece of equipment in the art room in order to give all students equal footing.
They can all see what I am doing at the same time. It's impossible to demonstrate art mediums, such as painting, shading, texture on a whiteboard or chalkboard. This is something my students will benefit from for years to come.
