My students need whiteboards in order to practice problems in a way that saves paper and allows me to formatively assess their work efficiently. This will allow me to pinpoint which students need extra help.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a diverse set of backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences. However, despite their differences, they come together to help one another. Hardworking, determined, committed are the words I would use to describe not only my students, but the families who've raised them. Many of them work tirelessly to give their children a taste of the American Dream. Along with their parents, the children know that they need to follow in their footsteps to achieve their personal successes. The students appreciate the after school activities they've been blessed to partake in, activities other children do not always have the opportunities to engage in. With this, they can use their talents to give back to their community and help others along their way.
My hope is to continue embodying this sentiment for my students.
I want to work hard to foster the learning environment they rightfully deserve under my teaching. So, I hope that I can gain assistance in doing this for my students and future generations I will mold.
My Project
During instruction or after instruction, I will give students an exit quiz in order to assess their progress. Many times, I will walk around the room to check student's answers to those questions, but it takes a few minutes to do this. Using whiteboards will save time because students will immediately be able to answer the questions on the whiteboard with enough room to show their work. Students will be able to raise their whiteboards up at completion and I can spot check quickly who understands and who does not.
I have also included a small group easel as part of this project in order to bring students who did not understand the lesson and teach them a mini lesson in the back with ease.
They can bring their whiteboards with them in order to complete any work necessary. Whiteboards will bring efficiency to the classroom environment and something about using a whiteboard also gets the students more motivated, rather than writing in their notebook all the time. This project will go a long way with my current classroom and for classrooms to come. We can't wait!
