My Students

My students are amazing. They have been through some major hurdles over the last 2.5 years from being a brand new school, that wasn't done forcing them to start a year online and then end online due to covid, to the third year of dealing with covid related closures and illness.

They have tried to be resilient but have faced many challenges.

They come from good homes but higher math still is difficult for many and they need more opportunities to show their skills. They are learning to be problem solvers and to think in ways they never expected.

My Project

My students have had many challenges with a new school and covid pandemic-related closures. They have fallen behind and these items will give me a chance to work with pullout groups. The whiteboard will allow me to pull out 5 - 8 students into the hall and work on problems while others work in the classroom. The individual whiteboards will provide a way for me to see their work and use formative assessments to identify their struggles.

We have put a strong emphasis this year on problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

We like to show our group work by creating visual representations and displaying the posters around the room for future reference. The kids love to explain their thinking and receive feedback from their peers.
