My Students

My school is in a rural community, where every student gets a free breakfast and lunch. I have 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th-grade students who are trying to earn an Arts & Humanities required credit from my class. I am hoping to get better feedback about who doesn't understand... by using different formative evaluations and questioning techniques.

In my rural school, I am attempting to encourage students to pass and complete work at this trying time of COVID-19.

Whatever makes them feel more successful and cared about in the classroom has to be a good thing and will help their learning progress by letting me know more easily if they are not grasping a concept and need to backtrack a bit.

My Project

These white board paddles, which were left off my other request due to a clerical error, will enable students to let me know they need reinforcement of a concept, without speaking aloud in class. Many are too shy or embarrassed to say anything aloud, for fear of "looking dumb".

I truly want my Arts & Humanities to learn & understand our concepts so that they have artistic knowledge moving forward.

By using white boards, I can see who to target for further, individual work to make sure they understand the ideas, feel successful and are proud of themselves and what they learned.
