My students need these dry erase boards to use as quick way to practice their math skills and strategies, work independently (without paper waste), and check for understanding.
Our school serves students from K through fifth grade. I am currently a fifth grade teacher who teaches students in the areas of reading/ELA and social studies. My classroom is a place where I can turn reluctant readers into lovers of lifelong learning by making connections to their personal lives, as well as to areas of content instruction. Next year I will be teaching all four core subject areas and will need to incorporate a wider range of materials to best suit the needs of my learners.
All of my students are successful and determined in their own ways, despite a wide range of ability and personal interest.
The majority of my students begin with a preconceived idea that learning is hard and not something that they enjoy, but soon learn that they are our future leaders and are eager to learn and grateful for the opportunities we are able to provide.
My Project
These dry erase boards can be used by students throughout the day, especially in math for a variety of reasons. I plan to use the Velcro to attach the boards to the students' desks which will allow for easy transition and use when needed. The boards will be used to check for understanding as they work out problems independently or in small groups before having to show me what they know as I monitor and assess the learning outcomes.
These boards will provide my students with endless possibilities to practice and show what they know easily, effectively, and in a fun way!
