Help me give my students the ability to visualize physics concepts. Using the large screen on this iPad will allow my students to use the Vernier Physics App (which I have already purchased) to analyze video recordings!
The great scientist, Lord Kelvin, said that "when you can measure what you are speaking about and express it in numbers, you know something about it". Physics students all over the world must learn how to express the physical world in terms of numbers and manipulate mathematical models to make predictions regarding the worlds around them. A Vernier Dynamics Cart can help them achieve this!
I have dedicated, driven, and often low-income students from rural and urban South Carolina who have great potential to learn and accomplish great things!
They benefit greatly from technology exposure. Many of them have never seen sensitive scientific instruments used before, let alone had the chance to use them. the products in this project can help my students take the mathematical models of introductory physics and turn them into real world scenarios-this greatly increases their understanding of tough, abstract physical principles.
My Project
This iPad will connect with a dynamics cart recently donated to my students. The Bluetooth, connection, advanced processor, and large screen will allow my students to easily see how various physics concepts are related. Imagine being able watch a real world graph of a collision in the lab. Right now, it is impossible for my students to see this action on a large screen. Help me make it a reality! Apart from this application, this iPad will work with an Apple Pencil that I will purchase separately to create high quality review videos for all levels of my physics classes. This is quite a complex process without this great tool!
