Help me give my students the resources they need to build their number sense through the use of effective math manipulatives. This Daily Math Fluency Kit for second-grade will provide daily opportunities to engage in number sense activities.
It is my honor and privilege to teach twenty-three fabulous second graders who come to school every day ready to learn! My task is to provide them with an environment that allows each of them to reach their highest potential possible.

My Project
This fluency kit with math talk materials will help to build my students' number sense. This is something that they struggle with daily and can hold them back from learning much harder concepts later in the year. Without a strong number sense, other math concepts and skills are much harder, and take them longer to learn. Building number sense is the critical foundation piece that leads to all other math concepts. When students have number sense, they are more confident and ultimately more successful in all that they do.

Daily Math Fluency includes 180 days of instruction designed to develop numeracy and the ability to use mathematical relationships to reason with numbers and numerical concepts. This Daily Math Fluency KIt consists of two major components: a teacher guide with 120 Number Strings and 60 Math Talks. Students Master Fluency Strategies using Visual Models & Manipulatives.
