My students show a great passion for learning and get excited when they connect with the content. We explore reading, social studies, science, and math topics with the world around us. I have some students who are learning English as a Second Language. We hope to build our skills to prepare for future success.
We greatly enjoy activities that involve hands-on learning and exploring materials in the classroom and outdoors.
Our second-grade class has fun at school. I enjoy connecting with them each day.
The math materials will be used for my students to incorporate in our money unit. A second grade standard is to count up to one dollar using pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. The magnetic money will be great to show my students how to add using visuals on the whiteboard.
My class uses manipulatives during each chapter of math to practice counting, addition, subtraction, telling time, and graphing.
The playing cards are a great way to create opportunities for my students to practice these skills in a fun and entertaining way. The cases are a great way to hold the cards so they are easily accessible and organized.
