We are great learners today, becoming world leaders tomorrow! The students in my classroom are learners in a full time self-contained talented and gifted classroom. They have an insatiable thirst for knowledge and are constantly on the move while learning. My school is located on a military base and serves only active duty military families. Military children and gifted learners have unique needs. My goal is to create a safe and student-centered classroom that recognizes students' need to be active while learning!
My Project
The students will be fully immersed in a classroom economics project that simulates real life business. The students will have jobs in the classroom, earn money for job completion, create their own business, and sell their goods at a school wide market day! My students need books about economics to learn the basic principles of business. This project includes nonfiction books about economics and money which students will need as they create a business model. We also need money games for students to practice counting money and making change just like real life. We are creating future business leaders by encouraging students to be entrepreneurs .
