My Students
My students are smart, funny and friendly. Each day they amaze me and help me to grow as an educator.
I've never met students that are more hardworking and eager to learn than this bunch.
Along with our core academics, they are excited to explore different job skills and career options, which includes setting goals for what they want to do after graduation. We have accomplished so much this year and have so much more to accomplish every single day!
My Project
A large part of our life skills classroom is learning about money in all aspects. We learn about bills and coins and their amounts, and then we learn about how to purchase goods using money and how money is used in the community or at a job!
I am requesting games and books about money and making purchases to further my students knowledge about these topics.
By making the concept of money fun through games such as Monopoly Junior, Payday, and more, it will help my students to grasp this concept easier and in a functional way. I am requesting books, such as Goods and Services, Do I Need It? Or Do I Want It? and more, so we can learn about making appropriate purchases and promote independence in their daily life. I am requesting play money and a play cash register in order for students to practically handle money and practice handling money within a job setting.
Overall, these materials will strengthen my students financial literacy and help them to utilize money skills in a functional setting.
