Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are enthusiastic third graders that enjoy working together and taking ownership of their own learning. We love using our creativity through visual arts.
My students have a lot of heart and have the desire to reach the highest standards!
We are at a Title I school and half of my students are English Language Learners. They have a lot of potential and I would like to expose them to STEAM skills. We integrate art into all the subject areas and it helps students see how art is everywhere!
My Project
My students will have enough art supplies to continuously work on their art project. Currently we share one set of 12 watercolors and one set of 12 pastels with four different classes which makes it hard to schedule time to use the materials. This class set of watercolors, oil pastels, pencils, and art paper will allow students to have their own to use to create their art. The possibilities with these art supplies are endless.
Students will have the choice to use watercolor or pastels to create a piece of art.
Having the right paper for watercolors also makes a difference. No one likes having their work of art torn easily. This was we can show students that artists use the right set of tools and materials to be creative.
