My kindergarten students are inquisitive and excited to learn! Almost all of them are from families in poverty, and most have never owned a book at home.
When they have the opportunity to choose a book to read at school, they love to look at the cover of each book on display, and select books that they will not only enjoy, but will try to read!
You can see in our class photo that they love to represent their teacher's alma mater, and they are already talking about where they might like to attend college!
A bookshelf like this will make it possible to display several different books from which the students can choose! Books will be visible featuring favorite characters, current social studies and science topics, and even books the students themselves have written!
Young children love to look at the covers of books and choose books they want to take to their seats and read on their own!
In our classroom, this bookshelf will maximize the space in which books can be displayed for their reading pleasure!
I want to do anything I can to facilitate their love for reading, but I cannot do it without the generous help of others who care about these students' reading development!
