Martha's Vinyard was originally settled by a group from Kendall, England. They had a gene that created deafness and the island used sign language to communicate.
Show Me a Sign is a book full of ASL immersion where the main character is Deaf and shows what life was like back in the 1800s for Deaf people. I want all my ASL students to experience the hisory that this book shows.
Show Me a Sign shows the reader how important langauge is to everyone and how ASl truly is a language worth knowing.
