Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a first year Math and Science teacher in a low income student population. All of my students are bright and eager to learn. Many of the students I see, will need extra support and learning opportunities with hands on activities.
The best part of teaching is watching students grow in their knowledge of many concepts they thought they would never understand.
I am excited to begin my first year teaching in a great school with wonderful students and excellent staff. The students in this school come in with little to no ability to provide their own school supplies, but their eagerness to learn and do their best on a daily basis is inspiring!
My Project
My math students are short on supplies. My students live in a very low income area and supplies needed in the classroom quickly run short by the middle of the school year. My students could use some supplies such as dry erase markers and whiteboards to aid in their learning in the classroom. One of the most used items in a Math classroom is a pencil and my class could use a reliable supply to help them complete their daily work. I would like use the folders to create student workbooks that can help them stay organized and make all of their lessons accessible .
