This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My school is Pre-K through Sixth grade with almost 200 students. Despite varied ability levels, my students are from an area of dire need. They reside in a community that is poverty stricken and homes in which parents work multiple jobs to make ends meet and survive by way of governmental assistance. 100% of the students at my school receive free breakfast and lunch due to their economic standings. More specifically my four year olds have a desire to be academic scholars despite their background and living conditions. Learning's a requirement to better their lives.
My Project
My kindergarten students love technology. However, my school only have chrome books for upper grade usage. My students are required to take a state exit exam on the computer. Tablets will help students get familiar using technology. Students will be able to use the touch screen feature until they are able to use a mouse and keyboard. Technology is a requirement and students must take weekly assessment on the computer.
We make education fun and these tablets and tablet covers will assist with that mission.
Students like to play games and can actually learn without realizing they're learning. In addition to the games and testing my students have a desire to succeed. My students are the future leaders of tomorrow.
