My students need transportation and entrance costs into the Science and Planetarium Exhibits.
This project expired on April 12, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Every child is capable of being whatever they set their mind to but as educators, we have the responsibility to give them the experiences which will encourage them on their life journey. Our school is a Title I school, with more than 80% of our students qualifying for free or reduced lunch. All of my students are English-Language and Spanish-Language learners. Our Dual-Language students are broadening their capacities in two languages and I couldn't be more proud of them.
Science is in every inch of our existence but students need to see it first-hand in order to begin to understand how amazing science is. This experience can inspire the children to become scientists one day.
Our planned activities:
Visit Exhibit: Puzzles, Proofs, and Patterns
Visit Exhibit: Welcome to the Critical Zone
Visit Mineral Museum
The Flandrau Science and Planetarium outreach program is designed to teach elementary students science concepts through hands-on activities. The hands-on activities exploring Earth's "Critical Zone" are led by UA students where tations will explore earth science concepts like the rock cycle, the water cycle and the carbon cycle. Activities will align with AZ State and Next Generation Science Standards.
