Help me give my students a more size appropriate basketball goal so that they can participate in basketball activities. Our school has the standard sized goals and my younger students get frustrated because the goal is to high.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach Physical Education to all students from kindergarten to 5th grade. My students are always eager to learn and participate in sports that they have watched, or even new sports that they have never heard of. Physical education is both fun and challenging. My students understand that if a skill appears difficult they still put forth an effort to participate.
I have a very diverse group of learners with various learning styles and different athletic abilities.
I want to ensure that all of my students have the necessary tools they need to be successful in all areas of specific learning skills. My students are very special to me because they have innocent growing minds, and they are learning at an early age that physical education is important to their well-being and quality of life. Incorporating materials that are fun, effective, safe and appropriate for their learning style will ensure that my students experience meaningful learning.
My Project
My K-2 students will benefit greatly from this smaller basketball goal, because they will be able to effectively aim towards the goal. I have chosen a few tools to incorporate in our learning environment so that all students can participate in activities without having the adding stressers that may effect their performance. Children come in all different colors, shapes and sizes and many of them require tailored plans to help them succeed in cooperation with their learning styles. So should the equipment and tools they use. Having appropriate sized goals will ensure that all students are successful.
