My Students

Our school is heavily populated for its size and 91% of our students receive a free or reduced-price lunch due to income. My students are curious on how the world works. They have many questions about life science. When it comes to life science students are limited on hands on experiences.

I love that students are not just driven to find the answers in science, but the "what if curiosity trait".

The truth is some students will never be given opportunities to explore things in this world. As a teacher, I strive to engage every student in their education (in their own particular way). If they find their passion at an early stage in their education, you have given them a plethora of opportunities.

I'm extremely passionate about teaching students different methods and strategies in their academics. I want my students to lose sleep over thinking what they will learn the following day at school! Well, not really lose sleep, but that feeling you get when you discovered you just found a golden ticket!

My Project

These Smithsonian space books will help my students identify Earth and Space science properties. They can record data on planets and identify other features in our solar systems. Researching online is great but technology doesn't always work in our favor. It's important for students to know that sometimes they can pick up a book and find creditable data. Its also important for my students to have hands on experiences with inflatable planets.

Take a few minutes tonight and look up at the skies, can you explain what's going on?

I want my students to be able to describe celestial events year round. The glow in the dark stars are for them to map out the constellations within our classroom. This will help them identify the real constellations outside in the night skies.
