I teach 5th and 6th grades STEM at a wonderful public charter school. Our school has an arts integration focus and students have enrichment classes that teach art, PE/movement, and Hawaiian Studies. My students are all engaged learners that truly love learning. My students are motivated learners that arrive each day ready to succeed! Our school community is very diverse; we have students living in 26 different zip codes! I am so blessed to work with such talented students, alongside supportive and caring colleagues, in a fabulous school environment. Mahalo nui loa (thank you very much) for your consideration.
My Project
My students have formed 808 Angels, a volunteer group that is tackling volunteer opportunities in our local community. Some of our good deeds include visiting a preschool to teach the students a lesson, collection blanket donations for animals at the Humane Society and helping with the lo'i (kalo patch). We want to band together as a group and create our own t-shirts. We have requested the materials to create our own tie dyed shirts that we can wear into our community with pride.
