Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are a diverse group of learners, who just love being kids! "Having fun while learning" is just one of the mottos our class lives by, and my students come in ready to learn every day! Our school is located in a low socio-economic area, where many of our students are considered at risk and may not have the same opportunities as others.
Although faced with some adversity, my students always find a way to inspire me with their relentless need to succeed.
I aim to give my students meaningful learning experiences via science and math that will keep them on the path to academic success. My students are young budding scientists who are excited to explore and discover the vast world of science and deserve every chance to feed their curiosity.
My Project
My students want to learn math and science in a way that will capture their interest. This green screen kit will give my students an opportunity to create video projects to feed their learning across a multimedia platform. In my classroom I strive to find different ways to teach math and science beyond worksheets and I can already picture my students recording themselves to show mastery of these skills.
My students are stars and need a green screen kit to shine, and put their learning on display!
A media lab with a green screen will play many roles in my students’ learning. Video recording can provide opportunities to increase my students’ self confidence as they can take ownership of their work, as well as allowing them a different way to express themselves. My students will love the chance to create something tangible in the areas of math and science all while having fun in front of the camera!
