Shine A Light, Be A Light

Help me give my students opportunities and resources for academic and personal growth. The Scotch TL906 Thermal Laminator will help me provide visuals, especially for my multilingual learners. I teach ELA, speech, communication, and SEL.

My Project

I love my students because they come to school with so many different backgrounds, talents, and goals. Some work to take care of their families. Some will be the first in their families to graduate high school. All have the opportunity to learn more about themselves and the world in which they live. All have the opportunity to grow and contribute to making that world a better place. However, they need resources and support to make this happen.

Many of my students are multilingual learners who will significantly benefit from the visuals I make with the laminator.

Emotionally, some of my students are dealing with serious trauma, so I have the mental health books for teens, the squishy balls, and the word searches for anxiety. I teach ELA, SEL, public speaking, and interpersonal communication. My cart has a variety of items to encourage group work and hands on activities that will maximize the abilities and ideas for these different classes.

Ultimately, I want to shine a light on the students' gifts and help them become lights in the world no matter where they go or what they do. In a world that is often full of darkness, I want them to have the confidence and the strength to shine and help others do the same.
