My students need learn how to whisper read during their Guided Reading small groups. Having access to the WhisperPhone select will help me listen and focus to each student individually.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are a Title I school and resources are very limited, especially when it comes to resources. My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom.
My students face many challenges so I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
I work hard to meet the needs of every student in my class regardless of what level they are on. Whether it is a child working below level or a child that above level, each child would benefit greatly to have fun, new experiences to enhance their love for learning.
My Project
Guided Reading is a crucial focal point in learning how to read in first grade. An important part of daily small group instruction is learning how to whisper read.
As a teacher with a learning disability, this is a huge hurdle for myself to listen to six children at a time all whisper reading at the same time.
Having the individual WhisperPhones will allow children to directly hear themselves read alone. The duet WhisperPhones will allow children to find a partner and read a story to each other. The WhisperPhone select will allow me to have a small group of children whisper read and lets me listen to one individual child at a time.
