Shhh We Are Working: Student Desk Partitions Needed
My students need a class set of desk partitions for some well deserved privacy. We also need a class set of white boards to replace our laminated cardstock!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Kids are kids in a fast paced world. With their desk partition they are able to put it around their space and have that alone time that even seven year olds desperately need. We also use our white boards daily but we have been using laminated cardstock until better funds come our way.
My kids have the privilege of spending 10 hours a day with me.
With this unconventional extended school day my students become a very integral part of my life. I teach in an inner city charter school that targets under served families. This only means that their drive to work hard and dedicate their life to school is so much stronger. I see my students longer than their actual parents do during the school week which creates a very strong relationship for students and teachers helping me teach to the whole child.
My Project
With the addition of new desk partitions my students will be able to have the privacy they must need to do simple tasks such as taking weekly assessments. Even at the age of seven my kids love to be in a confined space with boundaries which provides a sense of security and comfort. The need for our class white boards is a necessity for our daily routines. We have reading and math centers which I require my students to use a white board so they are able to use the abstract form of learning with manipulatives to then transfer that concept into writing so they can work with it, speak it(verbal explain their answer) and write it to ensure mastery of a skill.
With these two simple additions of desk partitions and a class set of white boards to our class it will provide a world of consistency and comfort to my wonderful children.
I will now be able to stop worrying about them using a coat over their head as a partition and patching old hand me downs, to being hands-on in the instruction of my students.
