My Students

My students come from a large, rural, neighborhood community about 20 miles north of a major city. Our community does a great job of partnering with our school. Even though we have great community support, we still need materials that will enhance our students' learning.

After 25 years of teaching First Grade, this year I am teaching Kindergarten.

I am excited about this new challenge; however, I now have a need for materials that are appropriate for this age group. All donations are very much appreciated by my students and me.

My Project

My classroom needs a set of headphones to use in the listening center, while working on the computers or iPads. The headphones create quieter classrooms for better learning, and they help students focus.

I use multimedia presentations in my class to help students learn and retain information.

However, not every student learns in the same way, and many students learn better when using presentations or working individually on computer lessons.

Using school headphones will help keep my students from being distracted by others working. Distractions make it difficult to concentrate and complete their work, but using headphones helps students keep their attention on the lesson at hand.
