My students need 2 shelves with bins for storing unfinished work, a tall shelf for storing word work centers, and book boxes so that each child may have their own.
My students are amazing! We are a two-time National School of Character and our students exhibit this every day. Our students lead assemblies, have classroom jobs and leadership roles. They love to learn and connect their learning to the real world.
We like to make learning hands-on and fun!
I am dedicated to finding new ways to get my kids excited about learning. I know that creating lifelong learners is a huge part of my job. By making learning FUN, I can foster a love of learning in my young students.
My Project
It's reading time in the classroom. Students move into their centers and head to their read pockets to see if they have any unfinished work. Suzie has a hard time because Tom always puts his work in the wrong spot, or it's falling out and blocking her pocket entirely. Suzie needs new storage so that she is able to find her materials and get started with her work.
New storage bins and book boxes would allow my students to get their materials quickly and be ready to work.
Right now, we don't have enough book boxes for each student to have their own, so students share. There is not enough room for them to store their library books, headphones, and reading group books. I would like to give them readers to practice fluency, but there is no more space in their book boxes.
We also have another shelf that students use to get their word work materials, it is falling apart and students can't get the bins to go back into the shelf.
This project provides two shelves with 24 bins total, for storing unfinished work. A tall shelf with bins for storing word work materials and finally 8 additional book boxes. All of these materials will help our centers to run more smoothly. Thank you!
