My second-grade classroom is transforming from a traditional classroom of instruction to a technology-infused classroom of collaboration and exploration.
At my school, students have a passion for learning, contributing to their school community, and solving real-world problems.
All of our school's students are eager to learn and have great potential. Our students deserve to learn skills that they can apply in their technology-rich futures and careers. I feel that providing opportunities for students to work with age-appropriate technology helps our students become better learners and gives them the foundations for a tech-infused future.
My Project
My students need shelves to help organize their classroom books and tools in our flexible seating classroom. We currently have very large metal shelves that cannot be budged by me or a small second grader. Students have gotten hurt by walking into these large rusted shelves. While they help to hold our materials, another option will be safer and more useful.
With these Threshold shelves from Target, my students will be more organized and ultimately they will be safer.
The shelves are made of wood and cannot rust. With no rust, my students will not be harmed by walking into these shelves. The casters will help lock our shelves in place. The caster will also help my young students and I move the selves out of the way when we need to open up our classroom for more movement based learning during our drama explorations as well as our student create science magnet dance. The larger shelves will hold our dot and dash robots for easy charging and easy access for student use.
