My Students

Our students in Highline School District are widely varying, inspired, talented and focused on graduation. They each find pathways which bring them to excel. Our district is largely free and reduced lunch, and Mount Rainier is no exception. The diversity in our school is rich; less than 35% identify as Caucasian, while approximately 25% are Latino. Black and/or African Americans and Asian students make up approximately 30% of our total population. The Mount Rainier High School Music Programs offer high-quality arts education to all students who may wish to seek it.

My Project

This project requests sheet music which will be provided to full classrooms of talented high school choral students and used many times for many years to come, serving several hundred over time.

This particular resource is a mash-up of two pop songs, most recently made popular by the group Pentatonix.

The songs are "Don't You Worry Child" and "Save the World".

The a capella groups, in particular, like to prepare and perform songs in this genre and style of arrangement, and students are able to listen to each other and develop their musical ear more easily when working without accompaniment.
