This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
"Helping the village raise the child" is the motto of our charter academy. The whole school is a family helping each other learn and captivate the minds of all children! Scholars come from limited income families that might not get the needed attention at home because of extenuating circumstances. Scholars are the center of the school! The school is a Title I school where 100% of the students receive free school lunch. Teachers and administrators have a passion for the school and a passion for the neighborhood!
My Project
Everyday the scholars in my classroom access an online supplemental program called iReady to help them in math and reading. In order for them to use this program they need access to working headphones. In addition to the headphones, scholars record what their scores are in their iReady folders and need pencils to allow them to record their scores!
Every scholar needs pencils as well to complete other assignments in class.
They need the pencils to learn even more. These pencils will help them succeed and the pencil sharpener will help maintain those pencils!
These items will continue to allow these scholars to grow their minds and further their education. These items will make sure their brains are sharp to go far in the future!
