We would love to welcome you to help out our 5th grade. I am a teacher in Indianapolis, Indiana. I teach all subjects to my 5th graders and am always interested in finding a fun way to incorporate reading, writing, and grammar into my students learning. My 5th-grade students have amazing manners and behavior because I am able to keep their interest in school. Some of them need more of a challenge. My students have parents at home who push them, support them, and help them grow.
I want to push my students to higher levels of thinking and learning through the use of these mentor texts and sentences.
This year, I have high ability students and want to be able to give them a variety of texts to enhance their reading, writing, and grammar. I have one-fourth of my class labeled as two grade levels about 5th grade and I have one-fourth labeled as below grade level. This gives me many opportunities to differentiate my instruction and how I can use one resource.
My Project
Our reading comprehension skills and ability to answer questions need to be sharpened and fine-tuned. Many times, the students are not interested in the topic at hand, so I am asking for these Read & Respond Using Evidence and Content Area Comprehension Passages. These passages are highly interesting and at their level. They also need to practice being asked multiple questions on one passage and how to answer the questions. These card banks and comprehension sets have practice for individual students, small groups, or potential whole group discussion. Please help us to sharpen our skills with these high interest comprehension passages. My students use pencils every single day for all 6 subjects they are taking. This means that they need to sharpen their pencils. The pencil sharpeners will help with that.
