My Students

I work in an urban low-income school with students who often have little money for supplies - or come with no supplies at all. They are eager to learn, to create, to be accepted and of course to be loved. Sharpened pencils are an important part of any first grade class experience!

Pencils and a pencil sharpener are a must for any 1st grade classroom!

Help my students reach their potential by helping provide for them with these basic needs.

My Project

Students appreciate sharpened pencils when asked to journal their thinking, create and write stories or letters, answer math problems or to simply show their learning. Pencils are used throughout each and every day in every subject taught. They also need to be sharpened often in order for students to be able to form their letters and numbers without difficulty. This is important during first grade while students are solidifying their alphabet and number writing skills.

Sharpened pencils and the ability to sharpen pencils is an important piece of the classrrom!
