My students need an electric pencil sharpener because our wall sharpener does not work and book ends to organize our classroom library and make books more accessible.
Save our pencils and help us organize our classroom library!
My students live in a small town that lacks many of the resources and funding that larger areas receive.
We are a Title 1 school with many families living in poverty. The children in my class are extremely generous with the little they do have and are very sensitive to others needs and feelings.
My Project
Our classroom pencil sharpener rarely works to sharpen pencils. Most times, students end up with no pencil at all! We really need an electric pencil sharpener so students can quickly and efficiently sharpen pencils. With an electric sharpener, students won't be missing out on valuable class time and won't be wasting valuable resources.
We are also asking for book ends so that we can organize our classroom library. The shelves that we currently have are very old and rickety. We could make due with them but the books are constantly following over and are difficult to find. If we had book ends, we could arrange the books by subject and keep them where they belong. By organizing the books, the library will be more appealing to students and make it easier for them to find a book that is just right for them!
Any donations towards this project would be very much appreciated!
My students love to learn and little things like these would make it so much easier for them to do so. They would love to have sharpened pencils to complete their work and an organized classroom library to find the perfect book!
