My students need an electric pencil sharpener and a class set of colored pencils.

My classroom is a room filled with vibrant minds and colorful imaginations. I teach third grade in a small rural school. My students come from families that are limited economically and educationally.

Every year I buy a new pencil sharpener with my limited school allotment and every year it breaks around Christmas time due to amount it is used (at which time I buy another inexpensive one, which also breaks). I have never been able to afford to supply my classroom with a efficient pencil sharpener that is designed for heavy usage. I also would like to provide my students with colored pencils to use for our "Interactive Notebooks." For many of my students families colored pencils are simply to expensive for them to afford and using crayons for "Interactive Notebooks" does not really work out well because they smudge and are difficult to read.

By providing my students with a simple pencil sharpener and colored pencils you will open their minds to an endless amount of creative and imaginative possibilities. The resources you provide will allow my students to make the most of their "Interactive Notebooks." These notebooks enable children to use higher thinking skills in the areas of Science and Social Studies.

Your help will ensure that my students have a working pencil sharpener (which you would assume would be in EVERY classroom) and fully grasp their Science and Social Studies concepts and become better abstract thinkers.
