My Students
No matter how old they are, children need to be read to!
My students live in a small community where education is valued. My students are curious and enjoy coming to school every day. My students love the opportunity to listen and interact with books daily. They are given the chance to make connections with books and dig deeper into the texts.
My Project
Students will be able to use the pencil sharpeners daily. Keeping a sharp pencil can be a difficult task in first grade, efficient sharpeners will help with this task.
Students will be given to opportunity to interact with these popular, well loved texts. During the read aloud, students will be hearing and becoming familiar with "book talk" (language in which books are written). After the read aloud, the books will be available for students to re-read and look closely at the book.
Students will be using these books to help scaffold learning to decode and comprehend. We will practice predicting, making connections, inferring characters feelings and retelling.
