This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
These hard-working students attend a Title I city school and are 97% African American learners with a sustainable special education population. The majority of the students are functioning slightly below reading comprehension levels according to the district's projections. These students are low performing in the area of math. They are a fun-loving, creative group who are "owning" their learning as best they can. This community of learners are prepared to work to succeed; they understand their roles and responsibilities as it relates to their education.
My Project
My students are in need of tablets and pencil sharpeners! We need these tools to help enrich our learning environment. We are constantly crippled by lack of technology, broken pencils, as well as dull sharpeners.
The need to have these tablets to conduct research and pencil sharpeners to have sharp pencils to record that information is crucial to our learning time!
It is essential for us to have these materials available to us on a daily basis. Students are requested to bring in four to six sharpened pencils each day in order to be productive.
Please help us remain sharp with the tools of tablets and pencil sharpeners as we learn and record!
