Recently, I started at a new school. Immediately it was obvious what an incredible group of third graders I have. They are energized, positive, and extremely dedicated to their studies. As an experienced teacher working in a new school system, it is so refreshing to have young minds so eager to learn.
My goal as their teacher is to create lifelong learners and great examples to their community.
My school is a Title I targeted assistance school where some of my students do not have the necessary supplies to cultivate their learning. My job is to meet the needs of all my students and with your help my diverse group of third graders can achieve to their fullest potential.
My Project
Our pencil sharpener no longer sharpens pencils. Using handheld pencil sharpeners takes too long for third grade hands and can be quite messy. A new pencil sharpener will mean the world to our students It will save them time and allow them to get ready for their day efficiently.
With everything happening in our world unsharpened pencils should not be a daily problem for us!
There are so many dull pencils floating around our classroom. We can't work to our fullest potential with that! Something so simple would absolutely change our day. It is a basic and necessary classroom tool. Having two would be great for our social distancing practices in our space. We will also use our pencil sharpener to sharpen our colored pencils for our mindful coloring each day.
