Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are an incredible myriad of cultures, languages, and experiences. In one block alone, I have students from Nigeria, El Salvador, South Africa, and the Dominican Republic. Together, we have accomplished 5 major PBL's in 2 years.

Every single one of these students remind me daily to bring as much kindness, patience, and love that I can to my profession.

They understand that their parents' dreams rest on their shoulders, and they never take that lightly. Please help them to accomplish these dreams.

My Project

You will be ensuring that my students get to create their own unique shoes that they will customize, keep, and pitch to local entrepreneurs and graphic designers. Kicasso Sneaker Art Bar in Indianapolis will come to our school with over 200 pairs of blank sneakers. Our students will be advised by their designers on how best to paint and customize them.

Students will pitch their own customized sneakers (that they will keep) to a panel of graphic designers and entrepreneurs.

For weeks, we have been researching persuasion, entrepreneurship, and marketing to prepare for this event. Please make it a reality!
