This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are a performing arts school in an urban district in NJ. Students audition to enter our school and must be able to excel, not only in the arts, but in their academic classes.
My students are truly some of the most amazing people I know.
They are kind, talented, and hardworking. I ask 110% of them on a daily basis and they work to meet the challenge. On average, with hard work, our students have a 100% high school graduation rate.
My Project
Students will learn about financial literacy and world economics through hands-on experience by running a school business.
Students will be required to formulate a business plan by setting the price for the custom goods based on various world economic models.
They will need to determine the cost of materials for each product they wish to sell and what they will need to sell the finished product to the Shark Tank in order to get "investors". Projects will be presented in a Shark Tank-style presentations trying to get the panel of sharks to give them money to invest in their t-shirt/sweatshirt business.
The headsets/earbuds and controller batteries will be used for research videos and the vinyl will be used on the T-shirts and sweatshirts that groups create to attract and "sell" to the shark investors.
