I love that my students are active participants in my classroom. We are always moving around the room, engaged in conversation, and showing each other strategies and ideas that we have about what we are currently working on. I love seeing that collaboration happen throughout my entire classroom.
My students and I are often shuffling our learning and sharing around the room, finding new places and ways to display what we're working on with others.
I love seeing students referring back to their learning, knowing that they can utilize what we've done in the past to help them be successful in the future. They are learning how to support their own learning.
My Project
My classroom has very limited whiteboard space, which limits the amount of opportunities my students have to share their learning in a way that everyone in our classroom can access it. Individual whiteboards are fantastic, but they aren't always easy to for the whole class to see. By creating a large whiteboard space that all of my students can share with each other and that is accessible visually to everyone, we can increase engagement and collaborative learning. More whiteboard space will also allow students another flexible work space. I have students who enjoy standing while working. An area where they can stand and draw or write will provide yet another option for my students to be comfortable, successful learners.
