Sharing Our Time and Reading Great Books with Our Buddies!
Help me give my students clocks for an interactive experience in learning to tell time in Spanish and Spanish books to practice reading to their elementary reading partners.
My students here at our school come from diverse backgrounds and are here at San Tan because this school meets their individual needs. The students that are taking Spanish classes have a strong desire to communicate effectively with others and value the experience of getting to know more about other cultures and people groups. The students that are enrolled in my American Sign Language classes are very committed to learning about deaf culture and communicating within that community.
What I love about my students is that they are outside of the box thinkers who have diverse learning styles!
They are not afraid to roll their sleeves up and delve into their learning and get the most out their time in the classroom. I have high expectations of my students and love when they exceed those expectations.
My students enjoy doing cultural craft projects and love to take field trips to enhance their education. Many of my students volunteer in the community and love service learning projects. My students are amazing!
My Project
The materials that are being requested will be used in cooperation with our lower grades. Students will use the analog clocks to practice telling time in Spanish. They will also use them to teach younger elementary students to tell time.
Sharing great books is a passion!
The Spanish book kit will be used to help practice our Spanish reading skills and we will also share the experience by reading the books to students in the primary grades. One of the best ways to learn is to teach what you have learned. What a great way to build relationships!
