As a staff, it is a joy to come to work everyday and see the bright, shining faces of our students. They are excited and motivated by the new things they take in daily. They enjoy solving problems and being creative thinkers.
Our Title I PK-1 school is in a high poverty area where resources are not readily available to all in the community.
Our students are inquisitive, eager, creative, and would benefit from "out of the box" learning opportunities.
Our students love being at school and greet staff and each other with smiles and hugs every morning. Even though many of them face hardships at home, they strive to do their best at school.
My first graders enjoy sharing their creativity and knowledge using technology. Unfortunately, their recordings on our iPads and Chromebooks are not always very clear. My students want their teacher, peers, and family members to be able to understand and enjoy listening to their ideas. Recordings need to be clear. The retro phone handsets are easy for first graders to use and will work on both our iPads and Chromebooks. The students also find them fun to use!
By adding 11 more retro handsets to our classroom, there will be less wait time for students to record their thinking and share their creativity using apps on our iPads and Chromebooks.
We use our iPads and Chromebooks daily during math and literacy instruction time. My students will be using the handsets to record how they solved math problems, practice reading their sight words, or even sharing a favorite book or story they have written. The handsets will be used throughout the day, making it fast, easy, and clear for students to share their learning, problem-solving, and creativity with myself, their peers, and family members! Help my students clearly share their ideas and passions!
