Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
You know when you have an itch that you need to scratch and it just won't go away? My kiddos have a performance itch and all they want to do is share it with others!!
My kiddos are enthusiastic about everything!
They get so excited to share their work and music with others, however, they don't always get the chance to shine. My students come from low to middle socioeconomic situations and don't take things for granted. My school has been in the community for 60 plus years and has always been a staple for the neighborhood kids. It is a safe haven where they come and get their meals and for some of them, their clothes and it's a place where they are taken care of, not only their educational needs, but emotional and social needs as well.
My Project
My students are bursting at the seams in the music room! They do so many wonderful, creative things and always amaze me at their level of talent! I would love to give them the opportunity to take their performances on the road! My performance groups with my third, fourth and fifth grade students already go on field trips to perform for others, but our current speaker system is dinky and doesn't provide enough sound to match our level of musicality! I would also love to provide my younger kiddos with some opportunities to perform out in our community and outdoors at some of our school events and this speaker system would allow for that.
This speaker system will give my students a sense of professionalism in their performances and allow them to really shine in the community and in front of many different audiences.
My students talents and creativity should be shared with as many people as possible and not be confined to the classroom.
