My 4th grade students are creative, clever, and eager to learn! They focus and work together to learn new math concepts, to make deep inferences about the feelings of characters in their books, and to write persuasive pieces about their opinions. They come to class every day, excited to actively engage in science topics like energy or outer space, and social studies topics like our state government or the Colorado Gold Rush.
It is amazing to watch the continuous growth of my students and to see the ways they encourage and inspire each other to learn.
From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom each day, my students work hard to help each other and to put in their best efforts! By continuing to engage my students in interesting topics and doing this in a creative and positive way, I hope to continue to motivate them and see them make great academic growth!
My Project
My students get so excited any time I tell them that we are going to enhance our learning by doing an activity with technology. The amount of time and effort they will put into research and creating a fantastic project is amazing when they have this kind of motivation!
I would love to be able to have my students create realistic videos so they can share their understanding of Colorado history and of the science topics we cover like space and electricity!
The ability to use microphones to get high quality recordings of their voices would be extremely helpful to enable them to share their knowledge of topics with other students. A green screen could also be an amazing way for students to create videos in which they can pretend to be in places like the Milky Way or Mesa Verde. My students would be so motivated by this that they would be likely to dive deep into their research of these topics so they could produce fantastic video projects to share!
