This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students in my classroom come from various backgrounds, experiences and abilities. They are the gifted population identified in my elementary school. They work hard and continue to apply the higher level thinking skills I bring to them on a daily basis. I strive to provide them with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My students love to bring the most out of their experiences.
They are constantly thinking of ways to solve problems and are now starting to put that into action for the community. Because they all come from different backgrounds, we are all coming together from different experiences. All of us, however, know the importance of family, community and charitable actions. We are working diligently to really help our students have a love for others and their community. We are asking further assistance in purchasing the products we need in order to help assist others in our work.
My Project
My students are joining WE schools this year and working on a campaign for homelessness and hunger. The students will be immersed in their learning and take a hands-on approach with individuals in their community.
The students are passionate about helping others and have brainstormed a way to give back and offer assistance to those in need.
We have our Cricut Maker but we realized we were in need of other materials in order to make our vision a reality. With your help, we know we can accomplish this. The T-shirt press in our request will be used to provide school themed merchandise for students and families at school wide events. The students can't wait to see everything fall in place.
With these items, our ultimate goal is to have a way for students to get their creative juices flowing and allow them to be the ones to actually create merchandise that can be sold in order for us to raise money for the campaigns we have chosen through WE schools. Students will see first hand how their work has impacted others.
With the money students raise, it will go directly to help those in need in their own community. What a great opportunity for these young children to lend a hand and create a passion in themselves to help others.
